This privacy policy explains how Villa Lifestyle collects, uses, shares and protects your personal information when you visit villalifestyle.co.za, buy from us or contact us. We process personal information in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA).

What personal information we collect

- Delivery and billing details: your delivery and billing addresses and any delivery instructions.
- Order details: what you buy, your order history and any returns, exchanges or refunds.
- Payment confirmation: our payment provider tells us whether your payment was successful. We do not see or store your card details.
- Messages: anything you send us through our contact form, by email, by phone or on social media.
- Marketing preferences: whether you have signed up to our newsletter and how you interact with our emails.
- Website usage: information about your device and how you use our website, collected through cookies and similar technologies.
How we collect it
- Directly from you, when you place an order, sign up for our newsletter, complete our contact form or contact us.
- Automatically, through cookies and similar technologies when you browse our website.
- From our service providers, for example payment confirmations from Payfast and delivery updates from The Courier Guy.
Why we use it
- To process and deliver your order, and to handle returns, exchanges and refunds.
- To communicate with you about your order or enquiry.
- To send you our newsletter and offers, where you have agreed to receive them or where you are an existing customer and the offer relates to similar products. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any of our emails.
- To understand how our website is used and to improve it.
- To measure and improve our advertising on platforms such as Google and Meta.
- To prevent fraud and keep our website secure.
- To meet our legal obligations, including tax and accounting records.
We only process personal information where POPIA allows it: to carry out our contract with you, to meet a legal obligation, to protect our legitimate interests, or with your consent.
Who we share it with
We share personal information only with service providers who help us run our business, and only what they need to do their job:
- Payfast, to process payments.
- The Courier Guy, to deliver your order.
- Brevo, to deliver the emails our website sends, such as order confirmations.
- Mailchimp, to send our newsletter.
- Google, for website analytics, advertising and showing our products on Google.
- Meta (Facebook and Instagram), for advertising and measuring how our ads perform.
- Our website hosting and maintenance providers.
We also share information where the law requires it. We do not sell your personal information.
Information sent outside South Africa
Some of our service providers, including Google, Meta, Mailchimp and Brevo, store information on servers outside South Africa. We only use providers that are bound by laws, rules or agreements that protect your information to a standard similar to POPIA.
Cookies
Cookies are small files stored on your device. We use them to keep your cart working, remember your preferences, understand how visitors use our website through Google Analytics, and measure our advertising on Google and Meta. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, but some parts of the website, such as the cart and checkout, may not work properly without them.
How long we keep it
We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the purposes above. We keep order and payment records for at least 5 years, as tax law requires. Newsletter details are kept until you unsubscribe.
How we protect it
Our website uses SSL encryption. Payments are processed by Payfast on its secure payment pages, and we do not store card details. Access to customer information is limited to the people who need it to run the business.
Your rights
Under POPIA you can:
- ask whether we hold personal information about you and request a copy of it;
- ask us to correct or delete your personal information;
- object to us processing your personal information, including for direct marketing;
- withdraw your consent at any time, where we rely on your consent.

Children
Our website is not aimed at children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
